Nat. Bank to raise $30M
NZPA Sydney The National Bank of Australasia, Ltd, will make a cash issue of sAust3oM, the Second major equity raising this year. The issue will be made on a one-for-five basis at a price of 175 c a share. As a group, the banks are calling heavily on equity investment funds, with the National Bank heading the list.
The latest issue follows a 525.9 M issue in January, exceeding the 549.4 M issue announced by .he Bank of N-S.W. early in June. The B.N.S.W. issue is still current, and was joined only two weeks ago by the Commercial Bank of Australia, Ltd, with a one-for-four issue of 517.4 M. The current annual dividend rate of 13.5 c a share will be maintained on the increased capital, and shareholders will receive half the interim dividend of 6.25 c a share.
