Wally Wonder Worm and his creator
Some people go fishing w’ith worms, but at the TVI studios there is a certain worm which uses ants for bait It is Wally Wonder Worm, an impish little fellow who is one of “Stu’s” mates.
Wally is a w’icked little creature with a certain twinkle in his eyes. He comes from a long line of notable and hysterical worms, such as Napoleon Wormaparte, Florence Wormingale, The Invisible Worm, Super Worm and Baron Von Worm, Wally Wonder Worm has two special friends.
Eric Escargot and Krusty the Crab, who go fishing with him. “Gizago” viewers will no doubt have seen plenty of them lately.
These little creatures have a little lady called Isabelle Ironsmiller to thank for their creation. One of the graphic designers at Avalon, Isabelle dreamed up Wally and his pals one daj after deciding that Stu needed some company in and around the studios. Wally Wonder Worm just happened to pop out of the inkwell on Stu's desk one day and he has
been around ever since. He tends to be rather mischievous and likes to ride on the back of Stu’s chopper in his little Worm House. Stu has another new addition to his menagerie called Hippity Hippo. Hippity is a sad and rather lonely person. He just never seems to find any friends no matter howhard he tries and he is always on the look out for someone to play with. Isabelle has been trying to make ol’ Hippity happy but he really is a bit of a hippochondriac and just can’t quite make it. Isabelle, who trained ar the Wellington Polytechnic Design School, left after two and a half years and went overseas. She did not work as a designer until she began at TVI just over a year ago.
