Man dies when car hits bridge
A Waimate man was killed instantly when his car crashed at the approach to the southern Rangitata Bridge on State Highway 1 at 12.15 a.m. on Saturday. He was John Paul McGuigan, aged 27, of 9 Exeter Street, Waimate. Mr McGuigan was alone in the car, which was a write-off.
