Abortion
Sir, — Varian Wilson’s cool logic, and R. G. Cronin’s commendable rationalisation could solve everything, provided they were not referring to our human “situation”. No woman can “own the right” to any personal property — even “her body" — which is held in trust — not by legality, morality nor wishful thinking — but by age-old forces of creation and heredity. These forces have proved paramount, except to the self-deluded. It couid be profitable, in our mounting greed, to ponder the wisdom from the second century of Saint Basil, who opined that, “All property is theft.” — Yours, etc., LORNA ANKER. September 6, 1976.
