Entries were almost double the previous best field, for the Snowline Sport crosscountry ski-ing race from Craigiehum Valiev to Broken River at the week-end. The entry was 92 on Sunday compared to the previous highest of 55. but it was not only the entry that improved dramatically — so did the standard. Seventeen competitors finished in under 20 minutes, although the winner, a Canadian ski instructor. Mike Fidork, missed the record time for the race, set last year. Fidork's time was 17min 29 sec.
