Shipping lines set up N.Z. company
PA Wellington Two big international shipping companies have merged their New Zealand activities. They have formed a new company, Blueport-A.C.T. New Zealand, Ltd. It will handle the container and conventional shipping for the Blue Star Port Lines Group and Associated Container Transportation. The Blue Star and Port Lines have had a combined management company in
New Zealand since 1969. A.C.T. has been handling its container services to Europe and the Pace Lines sendee to North America since 1971. The new company will 'handle the New Zealand activities of five shipping groups — two container services and three conventional shipping services.
