N.Z. skaters perforin creditably
New Zealand’s young skaters made a promising start in the track events at the Pacific roller skating championships in Brisbane. The young Palmerston North skater. Brian Carwell-Cooke. outsprinted two Australians to win the 500 m time trial in 69.45ec. Robert Green. from Hawke's Bay, finished third over 10,000 m and the experienced international from Hastings, Christine Rowe, won the 3000 m. Deborah Urlich (Hastings! was third in th. same race and her married sister. Fiona Wass, was third in the time trial. Results:— Women's 500 m time trial. — B. Scanlon (Australia), 1; A.
