Studies in U.S.
Three Christchurch persons have been awarded grants from the New Zea-land-United States Educational Foundation to allow them to continue studies at American universities. Miss B. Mears, of the University of Canterbury, has a travel grant to ena her to take up the Canterbury Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr G. M. Newsam, of the department of mathematics of the University of Canterbury, will take up a fellowship in mathematics at Harvard University. Mr C. D. Wilkes, of the sociology department of the university will undertake graduate studies at Stanford University in politics and mass communication.
