PA Auckland Last week, the chairman of the Auckland Regional Authority (Mr Tom Pearce) labelled defensive driving as “bunk,” when it was suggested that the city’s bus drivers should be taught it. Yesterday, the front end of his snappy sports car was bent in a collision at Penrose. But Mr Pearce said he had not changed his opinion of defensive driving. “I don’t think it would have made any difference,” he said. “Everybody drives defensively anyway.”
