Air Commodore M F. McD Palmer, who toined the Royal New Zealand Air Force as a cadet pilot 27 ' ears ago. has been appointed Assistant Chief of Staff (personnel). He succeeds Brigadier A H. Sutton, who has retired Christ s College - educated. Air Commodore Palmer joined the Air Force at Wigram and has served in Cyprus, Malaysia, and Singapore. He attended a Joint Services Staff College course in ’he United Kingdom m 1967,
and spent 1974 at the Royal College of Defence Studies in London Air Commodore Palmer’s sucessor as commander of the Air Force Support Group at Wigram is Group Captain I. M Gillard, who was last at I
Wigram as a flying instructor tn 1953. He has been in the service more than 25 years, and in 1974 was the senior staff officer on the Air Staff in Defence Headquarters, Wellington
