Cartoonist will discuss P.M.
The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) has agreed to appear on TV2’s late night arts programme, "Kaleidoscope” tonight. with "Auckland Star” cartoonist, Peter Bromhead. The cartoonist is soon to publish a limited edition 150 caricatures of Mr Muldoon, all drawn in nineteenth-century style. Tonight he will present the Prime Minister with print No. 1 of the edition. With the presenter of “Kaledioscope,” Jeremy Payne, they will discuss cartoons and cartoonists. Payne will then talk with Bromhead about political cartoons, how important he considers his job is, and how he arrives at his caricatures.
Peter Brom head has already met Mr Muldoon. The cartoonist recently travelled to Wellington to meet members of the Cabinet. so he was better able to draw them. He spent some time with Mr Muldoon.
The Prime Minister ts able to appear on the programme as he will be travelling to Auckland for the week-end. The Bromhead-Muldoon exchange will be in addition to "Rowena Jackson — Prima Ballerina,” a film on the tamous New Zealander, and Beethoven’s Quartet in C. Sharp, Opus 131, played by the Aeolian Quartet. ENCS
