Pre-Budget buying combined with new prospects for Australian uranium exports to Iran to produce a boom in uranium shares and renewed demand for the industrial and mining leaders on Australian stock exchanges yesterday. B.H.P. closed at 894 c. up 14c, while ICI put on 5c at 185 c. and CSR 14c at 542 c. Brewers also found support in expectation of no increase in beer taxes next Tuesday, and CUB gained 1c to 205 c.
