New captain for Auckland
PA Auckland The Waitemata playercoach, John Hart, will captain the Auckland rugby team against Wanganui tomorrow in the first defence of the Ranfurly Shield this season.
Hart replaces the regular half-back and team leader, Lin Colling, who is still recovering from a dislocated elbow received against Marlborough two weeks ago. The Auckland team is: Joe Whiu, Terry Morrison, Tim Twigden, Dave Palmer, Perry Parlane, Mike Richards, John Hart, Dave Webb, Barry Ashworth, Andy Haden, Stu Conn, Dennis Thom, Steve Watt, Dave Syrns, Greg Denholm.
