Marine director
Mr H. D. M. Jones has been appointed director of the Marine Division of the Ministry of Transport. He has been deputy director since 1972. Mr Jones led the investigating teams which travelled overseas to select a| coastal ro*>-on vessel for the Shipping Corporation, and the vessel which was bought: for the Cook Islands trade. H was responsible for the design of the Cook Strait rail ferries and of several other domestic ships. i
