I NZPA Brisbane Sydney’s lan Geoghegan. driving a Monaro. again proved his .superiority over New Zealand’s Jim Richards in the second round of the Rothmans sports , car challenge at the Lakeside track near Brisbane at the week- ; end Geoghegan s 500 horsepower Monaro won all three heats of (lie second round, with Richards finishing second each time in his Mustang. Geoghegan powered his way around each circuit and set a new lap record for sport? sedans of 56.7»ec or an average of 153 I km/h. I Hts Monaro just had too much power for Richards's Mustang, although the Kiwi driver tried hard to bridge the gap.
