Canterbury top in badminton

Canterbury reaffirmed its position as the top badminton centre in the South Island with decisive wins in division one and division two triangular tournaments in Christchurch on Saturdav. The Canterbury division one team retained the Neill Trophy by beating Otago. 15 matches to one. and Southland. 13-3. Southland met Canterbury in the final tie and it went into the contest with its hopes still alive following a 13-3 win over Otago. It was an encouraging showing by the Canterbury team, which will face its big assignment when it goes to Auckland •arlj next month for the national Wisden Cup tournament.
