Suburban black-out
About 10,000 electricitv consumers in parts of Woolston and Opawa were without power for more than an hour on Tuesday evening. The black-out occurred at 7.18 p.m.. according to the Municipal Electricity Department’s Chief Engineer (Mr W. G. Johnstone). An unknown fault caused four 11,000 volt underground cables between Bromley and the Woolston District sub-station to be automatically switched off. Other sub-stations supplied through Woolston vteie also affected. Power was fully restored at 8.36 p.m., although M.E.D. staff were still working to repair the fault late last evening.
