Forest management plan
Sir, — “Mr June, has accused the Forest Service of attempting to avoid proper public involvement in decisions about the future of native forests by deliberately restricting the availability of the management plan for the KaimaiMamaku State Forest Park. Mr June had already called at this office and read the plan before he wrote to you. A room had been especially set aside so that he, and any others interested, could examine the plan without being disturbed. So that Mr June would not be kept waiting on anyone else who might be reading the plan, he was asked to nominate a time that would suit him. There was no other limitation on Mr June’s access to the plan. He spent less than half an hour in its examination.” — Yours, etc., J. W. LEVY. Conservator of Forests. July 22, 1976.
