Skelton 3 1902 WAITETI LASS (9) 56. Surprise winner three starts back over 1400 m at Te Awamutu. Meanwhile had two outs before running a good second behind MarebeMo over 1100 m at Levin on Wednesday. 4 0009 DAWN CREST (16) 55.5. Capable at best but has yet to offer much encouragement this time up after a fair spell. Faded and beat one last start over 1200 m at Avondale. On that will find this distance tough. B. Ran on solidly two ' starts back when winning an i intermediate 2000 m event at ' Avondale and shaped creditably when fourth behind Cornelius over 2030 m at Matamata last Saturday. Often runs on like a very useful stayer.

G. Barkla 7 7404 NELSON'S ORDER (4) $5. Finished distant fourth last start over 2200 m at Trentham last Saturday. Well beaten time before behind Cattle King at Trenthain after fourth over 2200 m behind Kandy King at Avondale. lias shown promise but is finding it hard to win.

W. Robinson 8 0398 TRICMIST (5) 55. Has produced some fair form occasionally. Last showed up when third behind St Crispian and Cuyler over 2000 m at Whangarei. Hard to fancy much in first start after a long spell. 10 4973 DIVINE CLOUD (14) 54.5. Best form in intermediate company has been verv useful including last-start third over 2000 m at Avondale. Last won C 4, 5,1600 m at Ellerslie. Has a fair chance in this company.

Very capable in winter ground and racing as though he could soon win again. Fin , ished second over 1200 m at, the Great Northern meeting; and third tw.o starts back! over 1200 m at Avondale Pretty certain to be prominent. 3 1477 ATHELLO (5) 8 54. t. n Smart and in first race after a fair spell is one worth some at tention. Has won on this, course and capable in heavy; ground 8 05 ARABESQUE (14) 51 Looked good towards the end of last winter and showed some promise again last time. In second race after a spell, when about mid-field, over 1200 m at Avondale. Likely to have improved further. Worth attention. R Skelton 9 5550 DANNY ROYAL (11) 51. Once promising but has failed to come up to expectations. Faded and beat only one last Saturday over 1100 m at Matamata in first start after a fair spell. Could be expected to need more racing. 10 0857 DIAMOND DOLLARS (6) 51. Managed fair fifth two starts back at Rotorua in May but form over all not too encouraging. Managed a couple of second placings last spring but otherwise has done nothing worthwhile this season. 11 7606 ENSIGN (9) 51. Has always had speed but seldom sufficient staying ability. Weakened last time over 1400 m at Avondale and this is not likely to prove any easier even though shorter. • 12 0900 HI SURGE (15) 51. Hardly a chance on latest! form.
