Dr Craven puts it bluntly

A ZPA staff correspondent Port Elizabeth

The president of the s outh African Rugby Board <Dr Dante Craven)' put it oluntly when he said that the All Blacks would not win the first test against the Springboks this weekend.

Speaking after the match against the Gazelles on Wednesday, Dr Craven said that while most people were congratulating the All Blacks on their performance in beating the Gazelles, he did not think the New Zealanders had played well.

"I don't think you played well — and I hope vou continue like that * all

■.eek,” he said, in an obvious reference to the first test at Durban.

“Your players seemed listless, and your goalkicking was bad — which is just what we want," Dr Craven said. Thanking the All Blacks for “making the tour under difficulties." Dr Craven said he had been

thinking a great deal about the All Blacks in the last two days since the start of the Olympic Games. “I agree with your Prime Minister." Dr Craven said. “We could do with some of the spirit of sport in politics, but we don't want the spirit of politics in sport. “Talk to me about sport — forget about other things,” Dr Craven said.
