Profit of trust up
With total sales rising 14 per cent, the Hornby Licensing Trust achieved a net profit of $19,848 in its financial year, according to a report by the trust’s chairman (Mr D. S. Goulding). Mr Goulding said that total sales had reached a record $919,783, although all figures were vet to be audited.
The trust had made gifts of $520 during its financial year, $4OO of which went to Hornby’s seven schools. A house, next to the hotel, had been demolished to provide more car-parking facilities. the report said. The report, indicates that $224,799 was paid in wages and salaries, a rise of $26,603 over the 1975 period. Fuel and power costs rose considerably to $15,419 this year, a rise of almost $3OOO. The cost of replacing linen and crockery fell dramatically to $2202 in 1976 from the 1975 figure of $5770, as did the building’s depreciation. reckoned at $14,851 this year compared with $15,115 in 1975. Mr Goulding said.
