PLACINGS REVERSED

PA Hamilton After the running of the second division of the Tower [Maiden at Matamata on Saturday the stipendiary stewards instituted an inquiry into the hampering of the second-placed horse, Wanbin (D. A. Peake) by Lady Coruba (K. Matthews), which had finished first. It was found that Lady Coruba, through its outward movement in the last 150 m, had affected the chances of Wanbin and the placings were reversed, with Wanbin being promoted to first. Matthews was charged with careless riding, found guilty, and was suspended up to and including July 27.
