The Neu Zealand c; clist. Bruce Biddle, is not to get his Olympic bronze medal aftei all.
Biddle finished fourth in the individual road race at the Munich Olympics four years ago
and was promoted to third after the third finisher was disqualified following a positive drug u-st. Immediately after the race Biddle and the New Zealand cycling manager «Mr Colin Hollows) attempted to get tbe New Zealander tested for drugs, but thu attempt was rejected. Since tliat time there have been a number of attempts to get the Olympic medal, but it now seems that his last chance has gone. A small item in the report of the , International Cv< ling F ederation meeting which was released yesterday said. “New Zealand’s reauest for the bronze medal for their fourth finisher at the Munich Games in the individual road race. Bruce Biddle, was rejected despite the disqualification of the third competitor because of doping, du* to strict regulations in this area.”
