Ferry award welcomed
[PA Wellington. The signing on Monday of the maritime composite agreement covering al) workers in the Cook Strait ferries has been welcomed by the Minister of Railways (Mr McLachlan). The agreement has still to be ratified by the Industrial Commission, but Mr McLachlan called it “one of the most important developments for many years in maritime industrial relations. “I am confident it will help bring about a greater stability in this industry,” he isaid.
