Parking standardised
The arrangements at the Manchester Street car park will follow those at the other City Council parking centres. Monthly parkers with reserved spaces will be required to pay in advance. The new car parks superintendent (Mr G. N. Stevenson) said that one parking building attendant had been incorrectly allowing some people to pay weekly. About 550 people have reserved parking spaces in council parks. Letters explaining the parking policies have been sent to those with reserved spaces.
Plastic wallets with adhesive will be provided for attaching monthly numbered stickers to the windscreen. People who want to pay more than a month in advance will be able to indicate this. Tickets will have the first letter of the parking area’s name and the allocated space number. Additional plastic wallets
