Wright to replace Bunn
Murray Wright will replace his Hornby club-mate, Wayne Bunn, in the Canterbury rugby league team to play West Coast at Greymouth on Sunday. Wright satisfied the acting Canterbury coach, Gary Clarke, of his fitness on Saturday in his first match since the last CanterburyWest Coast game, on June 7. However, there is some doubt about two of the backs. The ■ stand-off half, Bob Jarvis- • — another Hornby player — was unconscious for 20min on Saturday after his head thudded into Mocky Brereton’s knee. Brereton, himself a member of the representative team, hobbled for some time afterwards. Jarvis was also taken from the field in Hornby’s match against Papanui, two weeks and a half ago. The Eastern centre, Bruce Dickison, was concussed against Kaiapoi but it is expected he will be fit for Sunday. His club-mate, Alan Rushton, was rested on Saturday: he had 10 stitches in a hand, the result of an alleged bite the previous week in the match against Riccarton.
