New M.W.W.L. officers

Mrs Shalima Vuibau, of Auckland, was elected first vice-president of the Maori Women's Welfare League on the final day of the annual conference in Christchurch. Mrs Elizabeth Murchie, of Wellington, and formerly of Dunedin, was elected as second vice-president. She is succeeded as the Te Waipounamu representative by a Christchurch woman. Mrs Aroha Chick, who was chairwoman of the committee which organised the conference.

Other new area representatives on the Dominion executive, who had been previously elected by their districts were Mrs H. Marunui (Aotea), and Miss K. Taylor (Auckland). Dame Te Atairangikaahu continues as patron of the league, and Mrs Mira Szaszy has another year of the fouryear presidential term to serve.
