Centenarian dies
PA Tauranga Mrs Mary Frances Buckeridge died in the Tauranga Hospital on Monday at the age of 100, after a short illness. Mrs Buckeridge celebrated her one-hundredth birthday ion Mav 22. with many of her five children, 12 grandchildren. 24 great-grandchild-ren and three great-great-grandchildren present. Born in Fiji, she lived most of her life there, moving to Tauranga 20 years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Mr and Mrs C. V. H. Thomas. ; The eldest of seven children of a Fiji government employee, Mrs Buckeridge was widowed twice. She was the second Tauranga woman to turn 100 this year.
