Milk powder stocks fall
Gieyrnouth. The stockpile of milk powder at the Westland Cooperative Dairy Company’s plant at Hokitika is beihg disposed of more quickly.. The general manager of the company (Mr G. T. Bloomfield) said yesterday that there had been a rush of orders to meet overseas sales. The milk powder was going to Japan, the Philippines, the West Indies, Peru, and other countries. The price for the powder has risen in some countries, but is still low.
