Telly Savalas looks at Olympics

Another side of Telly Savalas will be seen when he hosts a documentary’ film from TV2 tomorrow on Russian and American prospects at the Montreal Olympics. The film is entitled “Olympic Champions And Challengers” and will be showm in TV2’s “Six-Thirty Special’’ slot. Russia and America have won the most Olympic gold medals, but as the film points out politics mean little when the battle is reduced to one man against another. The film crew travelled to the Soviet Union and to the training grounds in America with Savalas, who introduces 10 medal winners and 14 world record holders. As he tells each person’s story, the athletes (from track and field, gymnastic and swimming) demonstrate their form in slowmotion photography. Also, in interview's, they talk candidly about their years of training, mental preparation, lifestyle, hopes and fears, and why they want to win a gold medal.
