Chairman of D.F.C. announced
PA Wellington The appointment of Mr John Mowbray as chairman of the Development Finance Corporation was announced by the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Adams-Schneider) yesterday. Mr Mowbray will replace Mr F. Turnovsky, whose term as chairman the Government did not renew. Mr Mowbray was soon to retire as general manager of the National Bank, said Mr Adams-Schneider, and the Government was “particularly fortunate” to be able to avail itself of his services. Mr Mowbray is a former member of the corporation’s board and has been chairman of the New Zealand Bankers’ Association. “Mr Mowbray has played an active part in the administrative staff college, in the Pacific Basin Economic Council, and in his chairmanship of the New Zealand-Japan Businessmen’s Conference,” the Minister said.
