Repertory auditions
Auditions will be held and enrolments taken by Wendy de la Bere in the Repertory Theatre Green Room (upstairs) on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. for a course of 12 weekly classes as part of the Repertory Theatre School training programme in the second term. The class will begin on Wednesday, May 26, at 7 p.m.
Mrs de la Bere has been a Repertory tutor for eight years, and this year her class was postponed until after her production of “The Tempest”. Students will work on what Mrs de la Bere describes as an exciting new play, “Vatzlav” by Slawomir Mrozek, or another play by the same author, depending on the potentialities of the students. The initial classes will deal with acting techniques, study of text and associated studies. The play will be given a public performance in the Repertory Theatre at the end of the course. There is no age restriction, but the class is open only to those who are, or will become for the balance of the year, members of the society (junior or . adult). Fees are moderate.
A Saturday-morning class, under the direction of Colin Alexander, began in March, and had a waiting list. It will resume on May 29.
