St Bede’s wins all 3 matches
The St Bede’s College first XV was unbeaten on its recent three-match visit to Queensland. It beat Brisbane Boys’ College, 16-3, and under 17 side from the Brothers club, 14-3, and Downlands College (Toowoomba), 18-3. The team experienced a variety of playing conditions. The first game was in a temperature of ?.sdeg., the second at night under lights and the third partly in a downpour. The first five-eighths, Simon Johnston, kicked 24 of the side’s 48 points and tries were scored by the centre, Chris Buckley (three), and the forwards, Olioni Siuliangipo (two) and Mark Meates.
