Volleyball on increase
Volleyball continues to be one of the most rapidly growing sports in Canterbury. Entries for club competitions this season have reached 38 and are expected to be more than 40 by the end of the season.
A comparison with past seasons is revealing. There were 18 teams in 1974 and 24 last year. With such growth, and with Sunday evening competition at Cowles Stadium having to be played to a time limit, Canterbury administrators will obviously have to look for additional facilities. In the first round of games, Smash A, Y.M.C.A. and University A had comfortable wins in the men’s A grade. [ Results:
