Chocolate bar suggestive
(N.Z.P.A. Staff Cr sprit > SYDNEY. The Australian Broadcasting Control Board, watchdog of commercial radio and television, is examining three advertisements because of complaints that they are suggestive. One features a woman who slowly licks a chocolate bar, another features a hostess for a car hire firm who has a slogan "take advantage of me” and the third is for a brand of jeans. The board’s secretary (Mr Brian Connolly) said the ads were being studied, but he doubted they would be banned. There had been complaints about the three, but the board received many complaints and the three had not attracted excessive objections. Last year the board banned several television ads, mainly on safety grounds. One featured a man throwing lighted matches over his shoulder, and another showed a woman standing in front of a car when it came to a sharp halt inches away from her. Several ads showing children eating at restaurants where liquor was being served were also banned.
