Breathing stopped
Mark Vincent, the promising Linwood 19-year-old inside back, stopped breathing briefly when he was knocked out in the last minute of the senior rugby league match against Kaiapoi on Saturday. A respirator was taken on to the field and applied as Vincent, captain of the
Canterbury and New Zealand 19-year-old teams last season, was carried off. However, he was discharged from hospital on Saturday evening and had recovered sufficiently to attend the twenty-first birthday party of a teammate, Lewis Hudson.
