Cutting grass the cheap way
BONN. C.Y.Z P A.Reuter —Copyriylitr Sheep will replace lawnmowers in Bonn if a family venture founded with a capital of about $5BBO becomes successful.
Frau Doris van Dorp, an architect’s wife, who is financing the concern, said 200 animals had been booked since the “rent-a-sheep” firm was formed three, months ago. The company charged hirers $3 to $5 a year — much less than the cost of machines, Frau van Dorp said yesterday. Industrial companies and private landowners in and around the cities of Bonn and Krefeld are among the customers.
A further 100 lambs will be available for the summer grazing period next Monday, but each lamb will cost the van Dorp family $5 annually in insurance.
However, by October, when grazing ends, the lambs should be fat and fully grown. If the van Dorps send them to the slaughterhouse, they might find their business has be-i come very profitable. I
