Otago calves to go to N.I.
(N.Z. Press Association) OAMARU, May 6. About 300 calves from dro u g h t-stricken North Otago will be railed from 'the Upper Waitaki to Masiterton for sale next week, j Mr M. V. Alexander, stock imanager of Wrightson ,NMA, said the shipment would be a “trial run” and would involve two conisignments which would arfrive in Masterton on '(Wednesday and Friday of {next week. There are only 10 trucks i suitable for carting calves in jthe South Island and it had (been through the efforts of I Mr Jonathon Elworthy, .'member of Parliament for Oamaru, that they had been 'made available. The railways also had cooperated bv changing timetables of trains to ensure and avert delays.
