N.Z. rugby talent questioned
I GVZ. Press Association > DUNEDIN. j Reservations about New [Zealand’s depth of rugby talent in the positions of fullback and first five-eighths were expressed yesterday by Mr Eric Watson, of Dunedin, a member of the three-man All Black selection panel. “ “We are certainly not strong in depth either in fullbacks or first five-eighths,” Mr Watson said before leaving to attend Saturday’s AU Black trials in Wellington. “The full-back positions are wide open and much could depend on form shown in the trials. “The trials are most important and it is disappointing to me that so many players have had to withdraw because of injuries.” “It is unfortunate that Don Colling -has had to pull out — he has had a bad trot with injuries in the past couple of years,” Mr Watson i added.
