Mr Lapwood to visit
(From Our Parliamentary Reporter). WELLINGTON, May 6. The Minister of Tourism (Mr Lapwood) is visiting the West Coast and Christchurch this week to gain an impression of developments in the tourist industry. Mr Lapwood flew to Westport today. He will visit Greymouth, Hokitika, the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers and will arrive in Christchurch on Friday. He will meet local authorities, inspect Tourist Hotel Corporation properties, and visit the premises of the Government Tourist bureau at Christchurch. Mrs Lapwood and the deputy general manager of the Tourist and Publicity Department (Mr N. Munro) will accompany him.
