A.B. Consol, in profit

Shareholders of A.B. Consolidated, Ltd, in considering the conditional offer by A. S. Paterson and Company, Ltd, should take into account that A.B. Consolidated has overcome the problems which led to the loss of 5240.000 for the half-year to September 30, the chairman (Mr C. W. Mace) says.

Preliminary figures indicate that the company earned modest trading profits, for the year to March which is a significant recovery. Capital profits of 5800,000 from the sale of properties have now been realised. The directors of A.B. Consolidated expect to be able to confirm the improved results of the company in a report on May 3. Budgets for the coming year are based on the continuance of the profittrend in the six months to March 31, Mr Mace says.
