HIJACKER GIVES IN
(N.Z.P A Reuter —Copyright > BOGOTA, April 26. An armed hijacker, protesting against the “neglect of peasants,” commandeered a Colombian airliner for 30 minutes before surrendering meekly to the police, an Avianca Airline spokesman reports. The hijacking occurred on an airliner flying from the capital, Bogota, to the central Colombian town of Pereira, when the gunman waved a pistol at the pilot and used the aircraft’s radio to broadcast what he called “a manifesto on the plight of the peasants.” He made no attempt to divert the aircraft, however, and gave himself up quietly to the police tvhen it landed.
