Anzac Day news broadcast
Sir, — I, and other viewers with me, were absolutely appalled by the permitting of an independent political opinion to be broadcast in the TV2 news on Anzac Day, and the comments made. Anzac Day is one where we pay respect to those in two world wars, and in Korea and Vietnam, who mads our present way of life in New Zealand possible. In my opinion, to have it sullied by comments on apartheid, whether such comments are justified or not, I believe to be an unforgiveable insult to all those who participated in those wars, particularly the Maori Battalion. — Yours, etc., K. E. BASSETT. April 25, 1976.
