After 412 years, ‘nuttin'
i William Shakespear was 'born 412 years ago last Fri'day, so the London “Sundgv Times" asked some children at St Marks School in Liverpool what they knew about him, the Associated Press reported. “Nuttin,” replied Maxine Vlasman, aged 10. “He was a famous writer — Caesar Shakespeare,” said Lynne Williams, aged 11. Some other answers: * “He made films. He was in lots of films. 1 think he wrote Swan Lake, about swans dying,” (Peter Weston, 10). "He’s a good actor and likes to write plays. He wears Tudor costumes" (Kevin Dowd, 10). “He was a famous playwright . . . Shakespeare used words like hath and yea.” (Paul Edwards, 10). “I think Shakespeare was a poet and wrote books and plays,” said Catherine Sammons, aged 10. “My dad’s got one, a play. When people make speeches, my dad always says, that was Shakespeare.”
