The economy
Sir, —We were warned before the election that whoever was elected, we would have to tighten our belts this year. Are the workers now so spineless that they cannot accept just a little of our present burden? We know that manufacturers and farmers and a great many businessmen are near to bankruptcy. If these have to go out of business the result cannot fail to be greater unemployment. Every strike means less production and resultant poverty for us all. Strikers should hide their heads in shame —Yours, etc.,' T. CROCKETT. I April 12, 1976.
