Broken jaws for two

Broken jaws have put out two key players in leading Christchurch senior rugby teams. The unfortunate footballers are Alan Inglis, a Belfast wing, who was his side’s leading try-scorer last season, and Mike Cron, a Suburbs prop and a former New Zealand Colts’ captain. Inglis, who has the more serious break, is expected to be out of rugby for 12 weeks. The two teams will miss their injured players, especially in the next round of games, which will be played on April 24, not next Saturday as reported in “The Press” yesterday. Belfast will be opposed by last season’s fourth place-getter, Marist, in the main game at Rugby Park, and Suburbs, which has surprisingly lost its first two matches, will face an improved New Brighton side, at Lancaster Park south.
