The former United States Vice-President, Mr Hubert Humphrey, has said in an interview published in Rome that the United States could not accept the Italian Communist Party joining an Italian Government. In an interview with the weekly, “Il Settimanale,’’ the Democratic Senator was quoted as saying that relations between the United States and Italy would be seriously harmed if the Communists entered Government. “This would be a situation which the United States could not accept.
