S.C.F. funds allocated

Delegates at the Save the Children Fund conference in Christchurch on Friday and Saturday decided to allocate $398,000 of its funds for projects overseas. Of this, $78,000 came from the sale of Christmas cards by the organisation. Another $22,400 will be used to purchase New Zealand milk powder to be sent overseas.

The projects include the running costs of a trade training school in Indonesia, nutritional care in Dacca, a baby hospital in India and case work and sponsorships in Korea. The Save the Children Fund will also begin new work in Nepal, Monsurat in the West Indies, in the South West Pacific, the southern highlands of Papua New Guinea and Thailand.
