Cricket move opposed

There was renewed debate over the formation of a schools grade at a meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association Committee on Tuesday evening. The debate arose from correspondence from the Linwood High School requesting the creation of su'-h a grade. How ever, it was noted that schools were entitled to play in open C.C.A. competition. Opposing letters from other high schools were also received. It was decided that it was the prerogative of the Canterbury Boys’ Cricket Association to establish such school competi-: tion. Accordingly, a motion was! carried that schools be advised that the C.C.A. did not intend: to establish an exclusive schools | grade in the coming season.
