Olympic chairman in hospital
fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The chairman of the New Zealand Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association, Mr Lance Cross, is in a "fair” condition in Wellington Hospital. Mr Cross, 57, who took the brunt of recent threats from black African nations to boycott the 1976 Olympic Games because of New Zealand’s sporting links with South Africa, is undergoing tests at the hospital.
The secretary of the association, Mr George Craig, said he understood Mr Cross had been admitted to hospital for observation. He was admitted on Thursday after complaining of pain and difficulty in breathing, firstlv on Wednesday at work.
